I remember in my 20s I wanted the best looking jeep. Nice truck. Now nowadays, I could ride an old Honda civic and would be the most happiest man. Without any debts or car payments for example. Investing that money in something else instead.

Not as well, because my eyesight is getting worse as I age

Fucking lol!!!

personally I’ve never been too much into trying to impress others with material goods. There’s things I like and I like them for me. As a old guy most of my disposable income still goes on books and music just like it did when I was young

I put my disposable money in the bin because it's disposable......

I want to spend less money buying cheap things and more money buying expensive things.

Nope. I'm a shorts and t-shirt kinda guy. Everything else is kinda meh.

I've never had many possessions. Never got much satisfaction from them, other than maybe my bicycle.

I use money on chemistry and services of sexual kind

The older i get the more pleasure i get out of my material possessions. I love to finally own a bed to sleep in. And being able to choose what i want to eat and drink is pretty rad too.

Experiences are great, just collecting shit has never been a big deal to me.

One thing I do appreciate is living in a nice area and having things of good quality. I don't need a lot, but what I have, I like it to be of quality.

I’ve never been materialistic. I only want things that are useful to me, but I do appreciate & prefer quality things.

I dunno, when i was younger i wanted nice cars. I put almost 20 grand into a 25K car once. Shit happens and when i needed to sell said car, i couldn't even get 25K for it. I t was a wake up call and no longer gave a fuck about cars. But now i own a home and all my life choices revolve around this home. Sometimes i wish i still rented and really didnt have to give a fuck about credit scores.

IMO having nice material things in life is good, in moderation. But those who obsess over material things are usually some combination of ignorant, boring, and insecure. Just my .02.

Quality > Quantity

That being said things on average aren't built as good as they used to

This.

I used to be a cheap ass always worried about what I could afford. Now as an adult, as long as you're living below your means and it's something you'll actually use regularly, I believe in "buy it nice, or buy it twice."

I'm old enough to afford nice stuff. I don't give a crap about impressing others but I like having a really nice car and house full of nice stuff.

My house isn't full of stuff but the things I have are all good quality and are there to perform a function.

I like material things. Part of my specific type of socialism is anger over how capitalism makes useless crap that breaks right away.

This does not apply to cars. I see cars and highways the way a lot of boomers see social media. I think cars and roads are the real thing that's destroyed community.
