Im a huge fan of Gil, I think he is a gritty dude with a great chin and a ton of heart but I just dont see him being able to do anything on the feet to Edson and I dont think he will get him to the ground because Edson has some of the absolute best tdd in the ufc. I just dont see Gil taking this. Edson is wildly inconsistent so anything is possible.

Rib crushing kicks
Nasty dark thighs

I like Barboza, he's a crafty/wicked fighter and a joy to watch..Next!!!!

Gil has to press him the entire time, that's how you beat Barboza. Make him fight off the back foot and uncomfortable.

Prime Gil would pressure the shit out of Barboza and make it a dog fight and grind out a win. Having said that Barboza never looked better versus Pettis, dude came into his own and fought like a champ. With that in mind and Gil coming back from a layoff, I think Barboza is going to do work on Melendez with dem kicks.

Barboza 3 rd dec, arsenal and tdd is gonna be too much for this version of gil

Pettis gave him space and the fight took place in the center of the cage, that's not how you beat Barboza.

Gill trying to grapplefuck Edson down, Edson trying to kick Gil's legs and head to death. Rooting for the latter in this one.

Hopefully Edson will show again his great striking but Melendez could implement the same gameplan that allowed Eddie to beat Pettis...Hopefully Edson can avoid the clinch and stay at kickboxing range, there, very few can beat him.

Tony ferguson beats both of these chumps

Nah Pettis came in all fucked up in that fight, he did next to nothing and was essentially a target. Gil is going to pressure him and take the fight to him but I don't like his chances with the layoff, I can't see him taking barboza down, Barboza has solid TDD. Barboza will cover distance with kicks to the body and pick Gil apart on the feet.

I thought Pettis fought like he always does, he just lost to a better striker that night.

Pettis hasn't been the same since RDA Shang T'Sung'd his ass. He was really gun shy vs Barboza he did nothing.

I actually think Pettis ''did nothing'' because Edson was too fast and technical, near flawless. That made Pettis look useless. You apparantly see it the other way around, Pettis sleeping at the switch for some reason allowing Edson to easily outstrike him.

I'm a fan of Gil although very disappointed in his failed test. Makes me wonder if he'll be the same without the "assistance".
