How do you feel about Texas?

I live here, thanks for asking.

Transplant from the Pacific Northwest here, currently living in Dallas. It’s great, the people are very friendly and the weather is nice. I mean it’s nice for the most part it still tries to kill you in the Summer but it’s still pretty great.

After moving to Texas 8 years ago, it has grown on me quite a bit. I now own guns and cowboy boots

For real though, as a Canadian, and after living in quite a few countries Texas is my favorite place. The cost of living is great, easy and cheap to fly across the country, in the major cities there's a lot of diversity in people and thoughts, and the hot summers>cold winters.

The downsides are there isn't much nature, at least not in the DFW area, the temperature swings too much, and everyone treats driving as a NASCAR race and tailgates

Went there a bit in the past and like it. I like the country more then the cities.

"I have said that Texas is a state of mind, but I think it is more than that. It is a mystique closely approximating a religion. And this is true to the extent that people either passionately love Texas or passionately hate it and, as in other religions, few people dare to inspect it for fear of losing their bearings in mystery or paradox. But I think there will be little quarrel with my feeling that Texas is one thing. For all its enormous range of space, climate, and physical appearance, and for all the internal squabbles, contentions, and strivings, Texas has a tight cohesiveness perhaps stronger than any other section of America. Rich, poor, Panhandle, Gulf, city, country, Texas is the obsession, the proper study, and the passionate possession of all Texans." ~Steinbeck.

But also...

"Montana seems to me to be what a small boy would think Texas is like from hearing Texans talk about Texas." ~also Steinbeck.

I think Texas may be losing its way a bit, like most free states who have large influxes of people. Texas used to be the icon of independence and liberty in the US. While that sentiment still exists in Texas, it's being overtaken by other progressive voices. Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, and the Dakota's (American Redoubt) are the new figurative and literal Alamo. Just my opinion brah.

People from CA and NY move there and vote like they're still in California or New York. Only a matter of time until guns are heavily regulated, eventually banned and trannies everywhere

And when Texas is ruined, they'll move to places like Montana and then they'll have trannies there, too.

I think they are arrogant jerks compared to people in Oklahoma which is basically texas with better weed and gun laws nicer people. nevada has better gun and weed laws than texas too.

it has its good and bad like most other places

Dallas is awesome, then you have the dump they call Houston so yea

Being a Canadian who has friends that live in Dallas, Houston and Austin as well as being an individual who has visited these cities I have to say it’s a nice place.

when I was a lad my favourite treat was the Texan Bar. Always loved Texas since then.
