How do wounds affect anabolism ?

If your sparing hard and getting bruised up. how will that affect your anabolism after gymming the day after ? Wont the body use most of its recouses to heal the wounds rather than building itself up ?
 
I have a novel idea. Instead of worrying about stupid shit, you should go to the gym and work hard.

If you so injured you cannot train, then rest up. If not, man up and go to work.

Anyways, you'll be fine in regards to your body devoting its "recouses". Unless you're really really training and lifting super hard like a pro, you'll probably be fine.

Actually - It's a bullshit excuse for not trying or not wanting to go the gym when you are sore and tired. Why should I try when I'm all bruised up? How can I increase my squat/deadlift when I'm still sore from my imaginary MMA training? Anyway, do you need a peer reviewed academic journal to tell you it's ok to train when you have some "bruises?"

How about using your powers of inductive reasoning, smart guy - Do you know anyone at a high level in athletics that is not hurt or dealing with some sort of nagging injury. Do these athletes still make gains?

If you want to be weak and make excuses, go surf pubmed for why you can't go to the gym. If not, man up, dude.
 
Most strength gains come from neurological adaptation, not hypertrophy.

Meh - I used to be, but then I got those cool pills that help that "certain part down there" grow. It was the best drunk, late night purchase, ever. I can't wait for my credit card to get the reoccurring $29.95 bill each month that I can't cancel.

Good luck with your MMA training, if that's the path you decide to take. There are quite a few people on this board who train and lift at the same time. They keep a log in the Training Logs section. You might want to start your own log as well, and get to work. Others who are stronger than you and more experienced and who are doing what you seem to want to do - MMA and lifting - will post comments.

I recommend moving to a different country. Credit cards are issued locally so if you run up Visa bills in Merica you can move to say...Japan and do the same.

Oh noes! I have bruises on my thighs from power cleans on Wednesday. Does that mean that I lost some of my jakt fibras?

Do you actually know high level athletes that aren't ALWAYS bruised up? I'm not anywhere close to being a pro athlete, and even on my weeks off I still manage to have at least a handful of bruises in misc places.

Short version: Not working out because of a bruise is stupid.
 
One time I got a huge cut on my inner thigh, but I didn't stop lifting. This cause a great mount of anabolic muscle confusion. As a result my thighs got hyooge, but so did the wound. I stopped squatting, but the damage was done. Now I have a vagina on the inside of my left thigh. Sometimes I lube it up and have sechs with my leg vagina.
