As soon as you make your first post that counts you get a belt.

I've seen some people (not platinum) with less than 100 posts, but who are members since 2006, who have avatars as well as custom texts under their names.How is that possible?
I have heard join date has something to do with it?

I just do not want to postwhore to get an avatar, and with my pace I'll need another 3 years...

After two years you can get custom text which means that you are able to have custom text.

Go to your user CP and change it.

OK, I believe you. Go to one of the forums, for example, this one:
