How did you score Pedro Rizzo vs Randy Couture I?

Sure Rizzo landed lots of leg kicks, but do those really score? Couture was outstriking and outgrappling him.

One of my favourite fights of all time, think same as you, haven't seen in few years.

First two rounds were very dominate for one other, rest were close.

Definitely not true. BJ Penn was way more marketable than Caol Uno and that went to a draw.

I just had it for Pedro.. But it was really close. Great fight and one of the best events ever!

First one I watched sort of live (on a vhs 3 weeks after the event not knowing the results!) only way to do it in the uk back then..

Fantastic old fight between two absolute beasts. I gave Randy the nod 48-47, but you could make a case for the first round being 10-8 Couture. This is a good fight to watch for those who don't know a whole lot about Pedro Rizzo to see how good he really was. Inconsistent and unfocused at times? Absolutely. When he was on though he was a nightmare for the grapplers at HW back in the day (he was really the first good kickboxer with good TDD to go with it the division had seen) and the leg kicks he landed against the likes of Severn, Coleman and Couture were frightening.

Long before he was just another trainer at Nova Uniao the man was an elite fighter and one of my favourite guys to watch do his thing.
