Its been awhile since i've watched these fights, so I decided to rewatch them today.

I'm curious who you had winning and how you scored both fights?

7-5 and 8-4 for Hopkins. Rematch was an awful decision.

That's seems about right to me if you mean Taylor won the second fight 8-rounds to 4. That was about right, but Hopkins did win the first fight, and pretty obviously in my estimation. Took him 4-5 rounds to heat up, but once he did, I felt he took over the fight.

7-5 Hopkins in the first 7-5 taylor in the second. I think bernard was looking weak, old, and weight drained at the end of his 160 run. I think if they fought now at 168 or 175 i'd favor Hopkins.

Yea, i had it 7-5 Hopkins for the first and 7-5 Taylor for the second too.

I just finished rewatched the first fight and honestly had it a draw. The video quality wasnt that great but man Hopkins really didnt do much of anything in the earlier rounds. But he dominated the last 4 rounds.

Hopkins won the 1st fight, but I don't know where my scorecard is.

For the 2nd fight, I'd have to rewatch it to make a better assessment.

In the 1st fight, Hopkins the Champ was defensive and the Challenger Taylor was the aggressor as he should have been, coming ahead like he's trying to TAKE the title away form the Champion Hopkins. It wasn't effective aggression though.

It was ineffective aggression.
Taylor would throw a fast and flashy 5 punch combo which would be picked off by Hopkins' gloves, and then Hopkins would counter with a single shot which would LAND.
Over-and-over again, the same story for 12 rds.
Taylor threw more shots in the exchange, sure, but I give the exchange and the points to the guy that actually landed a punch in the exchange and that was Hopkins.

You had to be an astute fan to score that one properly.

The brass sure wanted Taylor to win though, and they sure enough got their way.

Hah hah, Taylor never did pay off big-time the way they anticipated after all the money that was invested into him.

6-6 for the first fight and 8-4 Taylor in the second. B-Hop just took too long to exude dominance.

Overall, the 1st fight was a pretty lame title-challenging effort on the part of the challenger though, don't ya think?

Lot of varying opinions. I haven't seen either fight in forever, but I remember thinking Taylor did enough to win the first fight due to the fact that BHOP gave him the first 5 or 6 rounds.

I think both fights are much easier to score if you watch a non HBO version or turn the sound off. The HBO team were cheerleading for Taylor so badly in both it made me ill.

I had the first fight a draw and taylor by one round in the second fight.

Either way...I haven't seen Hopkins convincingly lose a fight since Roy Jones Jr.

i had hopkins winning the 1st fight & the 2nd was tough to call...but winky wright beat taylor.

I think taylor won both of those fights .The first fight was exiting ,hopkins hurt
taylor more than jermain hurt hopkins for shore but taylor won on points to me
no doubt.Half the house thought that b hop won the fight though.

The second fight was more boring to me but i still think taylor won

taylor vs winky was a hell of a fight i still watch it from time 2 time
those guys where trading rounds nicely but winky lost it in the 12
he slipped up and didn't throw any punches

I'm surprised at how many people had Taylor winning the rematch. There seemed to be a sentiment, particularly among the HBO broadcast team, that Hopkins needed to start much faster in the rematch to win.

Taylor didn't start fast, and Hopkins landed the cleaner punches throughout. It was an easy fight to score.

You Obviously Didnt see
The 12 Close Enough
Just because he went to
his Defensive Style
dosent mean he wasnt
Throwing.

Rewatch The Round
he Jabs the Crap out
of Taylor That round
and TAYLOR was the one who
did not Throw any punches
