Justice League was the more popular brand when I was a kid. Everyone knows Justice League with Superman, Batman, Wonderwoman leading it. The trinity was leagues above anything Marvel can offer.

How come today, Avengers rolfstomp Justice League in the cinemas? Black Panther even destroyed JL.

because Marvel make better movies.

Simple, Warner Bros. screwed up trying to rush their DCEU to catch up with Marvel Studios.

And entrusting the DCEU to Zack Snyder.

One company makes good movies and the other doesn't.

DCEU is just horrible or mediocre at best. Wonder Woman was alright but BvS, JL, MoS and SS all sucked.

They stuck to a plan and RDJ is just very charismatic. In the 2000s if you were casting Tony Stark there would have been a lot of cross over of people that could also be Bruce Wayne. But Marvel decided to go with a guy with more charisma and personality instead of handsome, buff, brooding dude.

We also have to give credit to the great Mark Millar.

To quote Wonder Woman on HISHE:

"You murdered people and you forgot how to smile"

One franchise took it slow and steady building up interest, fan base and characters backstory over a decades in 10+ movies.
One franchise took roids and shoved all in, within 3 movies.

Playing catch up mindlessly won't win you anything.
Marvel planned their catch up brilliantly.

That said, I'm still not watching Superheroes films.

Two words: Production value.

I dont think its bigger.... I mean, I dont even know whats the difference man...I know each one has different characters but my point is they are both the same type of movie.... if you go see either one you will see it exactly because of the same reasons... you dont expect a filmmaking masterpiece...you just go to be entertained by an action movie with superheroes....thats it....couldnt be simpler...its the same type of movie, its the same reason, no difference, I dont know what you call bigger, they are both the same thing

If you think they are the same, then you are not really into Superhero films. Huge difference between Marvel films from DC films

If you want a live action comic book movie go Marvel.
If you want an animated comic book movie, go DC.

I would also add talent and vision to the equation.

If you compare budgets, Marvel has actually spent less when you compare movies directly, especially when factoring in the success of lesser known brands like Guardians. Batman Vs Superman cost more than Avengers. Man of Steel more than uh....I dunno, maybe any Marvel movie? Without double checking stats.

Because Marvel brought them to the big screen first, and did a pretty damn good job in doing so (Avengers 1 and Phase 1 as a whole).

The DCU has been absolute dogshit. When they ditched the Donnerverse Superman they basically tanked their whole set up. The version of the characters they are putting out there now is NOT the version of the characters that people want or that are popular. If you want good DC, you pretty much have to turn to the animated films, or to the different cartoon series. They, for the most part, seem to get it right. The live action films are all wrong from top to bottom.

Production value references the overall value of all aspects of a film. It is possible to spend less and have a higher production value.
