How crazy it would be if referees couldn't stop fights?

After watching that AWFUL Yamasaki's performance, this video came to mind.
What would've happened at this sport if stoppages could occur only due to the fighter tapping out or the corner throwing the towel?

Doesn't sound like a smart idea, right? Well.. early UFC was just like that.

Can you imagine that Shevchenko-Cachoeira fight by these stupid rules, had Valentina not gone for the RNC? That Cachoeira chick was willing to die in the octagon, and her stupid coach doesn't seem mature enough to save her from unnecessary damage, thank god this sport evolved.

This crazy...

The fight that made BJM demand the power to stop it or he wouldn't ref anymore

Technically the fight wouldn’t have gone any differently since it ended via submission.

This forum has turned into a torch burning mob, intent at making vendettas on the drop of a hat.

Fights should go to the death

2 men enter, 1 man leaves

Ahh the dark ages, fights were brutal when the ref wasn’t allowed to step in lol.

That fight wasn't that bad, Cachoeira wasn't even knocked down. Watch Matt Brown vs Pete Sell for a true bad stoppage

that would be pretty much illegal. it would be no different than some guy beating the shit out of someone dude on the street.

The ref should carry a sword and force the fighters to interact if needed

imagine Tank Abbott fighting under this condition...

If you notice in some of those old fights that he wasn't allowed to stop, BJM will start yelling "watch your fighter! Watch your fighter!" which I always interpreted as "what the fuck are you waiting for?!? Your guy is getting destroyed, so throw the fuckin towel in you dumbass!!"
