How could we ever prove an MMA fighter took a dive?

Unless they came out and admitted it or recorded a UFC representative ordering them to take a dive.

They themselves would not only go to jail but be blacklisted from all of MMA forever.

Dana isn’t stupid enough to tell someone to take a dive in person or through any kind of medium.

you would think in all the years of UFC there would be a proven dive with thousands of fights.

For the record, I don’t believe the UFC has directly fixed any fights.

I have absolutely seen them lean on judges and referees to influence outcomes, often it doesn’t even work.

Khabib- Connor, and Gonzaga Cro Cop, also Kimbo vs. James Thompson.

By sending the core of your being into their minds for answers!

There really isn't any incentive for a fighter to admit such a thing after he's been compensated. There's no reason for Cerrone to come out and say he took a dive.
I think what mostly happens is people bet against themselves and lose on purpose. Of course they wouldn't be the ones betting, but I think this situation is more likely to happen than anything else.

Situations you mentioned has happened in the past and boxing back in the day was filled with it.

Not a dive per se, but Seth Petruzelli said he was given a bonus for keeping the fight standing, and so he did:

Why not blackmail the company after you’re retired?

How would the ufc approach a fighter about taking a dive without knowing whether they would be exposed for it?

there is no way to prove it, if it is done right. that is why it happens.

Blackmail is a pretty dangerous game to play when you're only as smart as a fighter. Why not just not say anything and keep what you made? To think fight fixing never happens is a bigger stretch.

To think a multi billion dollar org is trying to fix individual fights is a stretch too. It’s literally one of the few things that can bring down the entire investment.

They can go public without it being blackmail.
