How costly would it be for USADA to weigh fighters randomly ~3 times per year?

Currently, UFC pays USADA for the drug testing system. It'd surely be possible to weigh fighters in addition to drug testing them. The question is, how costly would this be? Would it be that much of an increase for the UFC? It can't be anywhere near as expensive as the drug testing.

I ask this question because I have the idea to remove weight classes entirely. Fights would be booked by referencing historical fighter weights, along with height and reach, to make sure there aren't significant size differences in fights. This would remove weight cutting from the sport.

It'd make the most sense to record weights during fight camps, as out of camp fighters often get out of shape, so the recorded weights may vary greatly from actual fighting weights.

Should the UFC wipe the fighters a**es too. They're f*cking professional fighters, if they can't cut weight properly its on them.

wouldnt cost any more having usada agent carry in a scale with his testing kit

The commissions won't eliminate weight classes, that's the issue. So cost is irrelevant.

USADA aren't responsible for tracking a competitors weight. That would be up to the UFC.

Same would be true for drug testing if UFC didn't employ USADA to carry out drug testing. But they do. And they could for weight too.

Lazy, unsafe, short-sighted, defeatist attitude. You use the term "cut weight properly" as though cutting weight isn't intrinsically a bad thing. Like it's just ok, and that if it's done a certain way, it's perfectly fine. Well, it isn't. It's bad.

Sick of people making me ask them to finish their post.

Finish your post.

Why the fuxk would any athletic commission care what's "best for the sport"? Do you understand how government works...

It's their job. I'm not naive in thinking that they aren't sometimes incompetent, apathetic, or even corrupt. But you're obviously exaggerating if you're saying they have zero interest or incentive to improve the sport.

Its called bureaucracy and red tape.

How 'bout this, first try to fix the 12 to 6 elbow rule.... and then MAYBE they might implement this new measure as well. It took them 15 years just to lift the 1 hand "grounded" rule.
