How close is the winner of Krylov/Cirkunov to a title shot at LHW?

This is a sick, sick fight right here. With the lack of contenders at LHW, I have a feeling they may have either set this up as a title eliminator or at least the winner would be only one more win away from a shot.

What do you guys say?
 
If DC beats Rumble again and Jones gets suspended 2 years then hell, just one fight away.

one fight away for Krylov, 2 fight away for Cirkunov imo
 
They should get some maincard time first before we talk about titleshots. We don't want to have another Mighty Mouse situation where the champ fights these unknown undercarders.
 
And I love Krylov but cmon, his biggest win is Ed fucking Herman and that does not put you anywhere near the titlemix. Cirkunov is also a good prospect but has only beaten nobodies.
 
I think Krylov wins in devestating fashion and has to take one more fight before TS

Really? Fighters who have never beaten a top15 opponent should get a titleshot? Ok, why not..

Both guys are actually in the top 15, Krylov is in the top 10. I've said it since day one rankings do not show a fighers skills. Both Krylov & Cirkunov have proved that they are both nasty, young up and comers. Basically the only 2 in the entire division right now. Shogun is ranked ahead of them both so would you rather see him get the shot? The only 2 guys that would make more sense rankings wise would be Manuwa or Bader, which either of those vs either Cormier or Rumble does not interest me one bit. I'd way rather see the winner of Krylov/Cirkunov get it. 2 fresh faces.
 
if krylov wins, he should be in a no1 contender fight with manuwa.

edit - yeah of course if jon is not around.

Doesnt matter how good you think they are. It would possibly be the first time in the history of the (modern) UFC a fighter would get a titleshot without a single top15 ranked win in his whole career. Thats why it sounds silly.

Only since rankings were introduced. Before in damn near any division if you went on a 3 or 4 fight win streak your name was in the hat. I don't think it should be that way in all divisions. But at LHW and HW It almost has to be that way. Just a serious lack of contenders in those divisions, so I believe whenever you see a guy looking good and building a nice win streak even if he's newer, than throw him into bigger fights more quickly because that's exactly what divisions like HW & LHW need, are fresh faces
 
I think the winner will get someone like Bader or Gustafsson and should they win that, title-shot
 
With both having zero top ten wins I would hope still very very far away
 
Still far away. Theyre like 3 fights at least away from a title shot.

Yes, give them bigger fights/better opponents so that fans can see how good they are. That doesnt mean give them a straight title shot, lol.

Anyway, you can wish whatever you want. As long as you understand it very likely wont happen in reality.

I thinks that's what they're doing by matching them up against each other. Perfect fight to see where each guy stands
 
Think it will be Bader/Nogueira winner vs Krylov/Cirkunov winner as an eliminator.
