Conor is ONLY valuable when he promotes. That's how he became the highest paid fighter in the UFC!
If he was like any other fighter, one that just fights, he would be lesser known than Aldo. And he would not even be the champ, as her would not get a fast track like he did.
Cursing at the UFC for requiring him to be at the press conferences is just asinine.
Conor asked for this fight! No, he demanded this fight! No one else cared or wanted to see it again (There was no point to it). And Zuffa made it the biggest fight on their biggest card of the year!
Conor signed the fight contract.
Conor knew of the press conference dates and time.
Conor was offered a gym in US (to train while he was here for the press).
And this is not even about him "just training"as his own coach just said they were traveling to Portugal the week prior to the Press conference!
This is Conor's doing! All of it!
AConor gambled and thought he was bigger than the game. He was proven wrong.
So what he "saved two cards"? Many fighters did it in the past.
And it is not like he was added to the card (like Anderson Silva and Nog did at UFC 153). he was scheduled to fight! And he did it for money (to get paid or else he would not fight and not get paid), for the belt (interim, but was added just to entice the deal), and fighting handpicked guys he thought he could beat (with no trainng camp).
Besides, he said himself! he is in for the money!
He is NOT fighting "for the fighters".
He is NOT helping any fighter get paid more (he actually laughed at other fighters making "bum money").
And I am not saying this to bash him. Because it was never expected of him to do that.
yes, fighters need to get a union going.
But the above is not about that.
Please stop trying to change the issue or justify what quite simply is just a men acting up and being unprofessional.
