I mean some of them they would fight 300 fights or more.Don't they get injured? In mma you see guy retiring after 20 fights so how they do that?

poverty probably has something to do with it also...most Americans are soft.

Are u American ?

yeah, and i see a bunch of fatasses everywhere. and this is in California! god knows what the Midwest looks like.

avg american male is 5'9 190lbs...avg woman is 5'4 160lbs. if thats not fat, i dont know what is. mind you thats the average. some 300+lb'ers out there...

why?

In America we have gym wars, in Thailand they just fight into shape. Work drills on bags spar=fight. Also no medical suspensions, liberal bribes for any sort of commissions etc.....

Boxers have same number of amateur fights. Thais count all fights.

Over. Also, they fight to eat. I would be out there every day to feed my family too.

Aren't most Thai fighters finished by the time they are 25 ?

it is a pretty rough sport on the body...especially when youve been fighting for money since age 6 or 7.

You have to take muscle into consideration. I'm 5'10, 190lbs, but Im far from fat.

Then again, we are the fattest country... so, you're probably right.

i was about your height and weight but have then subsequently trained MT for the last few years and im almost down to 155lbs. lets just say that i wasnt exactly looking like a Greek god at 190lbs.

BMI isnt always accurate but...

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the average BMI for a woman is 26.5, and the average male BMI is 26.6. A healthy BMI is between 18.5 and 24.9. A total of 34 percent of Americans are overweight, and 30 percent are obese.

thais count everything since the first fight is the fight that they get paid somewhat. its different from amateur boxing.
also they don't complain about injuries as much unless its really out of place then they retire

You agree with him, but only because he's american?

Maybe they also train differently and injure themselves less because of it. Or maybe they fight every two weeks or whatever at a physical plateau, instead of every five months at a physical peak the way MMA fighters do. Just guessing here.

Or because they spend nearly the entire day training technique and cardio and such while here in 'murica it's all about lifting weights lol.

Fighting since single digit ages, fighting once every month or so, not trying to kill each other in the gym while sparring, plus smarter fighters fighting smarter games means we're seeing many more professional nak muay continuing to fight up to and past 30 (Saenchai, Pornsaneh, Sarm-A, etc.). So if you stay relatively injury free and fight for twenty-odd years at once a month or so, you'll rack up plenty of matches fast, even with breaks here and there.

BTW, that statement about no medical suspensions is completely false. The standards might not be as strict as North America, but they're definitely in place.

Haven't you seen Bloodsport?

My teacher, former Lumpinee champ, told me that he would often fight twice in the same day. Not a pansie
