im fairly new to GI Jiu Jitsu...

my major weakness is passing the guard...i have the technique down but my balance is not very good..

is there a way that i can work on my balance to pass the guard??

get flexible ankles (not sure what exactly they are)

you need to be able to sit on your heels in guard. im pretty sure theyre the ankles that get stretched but whatever. that's the best advice that I can give you, if you're flat on your heels you become much harder to move around.

You can call it having good balance, but its more commonly referred to as as having a good base.

It'll get better with more rolling but you can practice with a big exercise ball. Search youtube for bjj training videos with the ball. People posted some before, but I dont have a link.

Practice.. Doing BJJ especially in the GI will slowly make you much more aware of your body.
