I think Jon has the best chin in the Light Heavyweight Division, so it's improbable that a fighter will KO him. If you clinch up with him, he will take you down because he has great wrestling skills and he will hit you with his elbow strikes if you clinch up with him. I think the best way to beat Jon is by hitting him with body shots and leg kicks; it will drain his energy and he won't be able to utilize his wrestling skills.

    What do you guys think?

Claim his eye pokes were intentional and that you can't continue.

    Better Striker
    Hard to takedown
    Fast or Faster
    Great footwork

Ala Alexander Gustafsson. He was close but if we was a better striker he could finished it. Basically Anderson Silva level striker with the TDD of Gust, cardio of Gust, and footwork of Gust.

or hail marry submission or punch

You have to find competent and unbiased judges if it's close and goes to decision.

Any fighting sport, including boxing, when a champ round is very close, its pretty much default to the champ.

to be the champ, you have to beat the champ. Dont think youll edge out a close decision against a champ

challenge his legs. by that I mean actually landing some leg kicks on them legs of his. I still don't see anyone done that. Also, have some cardio to keep up with him. His gameplan is to beat you at what you're good at, so in that case, it's up to the opponent to use his strength to beat him. But it never happens. lol.

Good list, I especially agree with the tall part.

It's very hard, TS. Jones is the greatest LHW ever because he is a complete fighter who fights very smart and is extraordinary at using his physical gifts. His boxing is his weakest skill and Gus showed that with great TDD Jones can be pushed, so I suppose he could be considered the blueprint.
