Really vague and somewhat stupid question, but how big can a natural average 5' 10" guy get with just BJJ and maintaining a calorie surplus?

how big? just bjj? zero big... you can get leaner eventually, but bjj is not something you want to do if you want to put on muscle mass.

If you're constantly in a calorie surplus doing bjj you'll likely just get fatter, not leaner. This is grappling, not body building.

You will no doubt build grappling strength and endurance but you wont end up gaining a ton of muscular weight. I used to bodybuild but ive pretty much lost most of my 'build' since I stopped and decided I enjoyed MMA more.

HEhehhhe the climax in your post was hilarious hahahah. Seriously though, bjj with never get you BIG, if you train 6 hour days like a pro you won't even get big. No matter what you put your body through, you're simply not stimulating growth enough for you to grow, unless you have supernatural genes.

Probably about 300 lbs from some of the guys I've seen.

I would recommend pizza and sitting out rolls.

For the pizza part, just call your favorite pizza place. Ask them to deliver you a large pizza every day at dinner time, whether you call them or not. Just say you're always down for one. They will be thrilled at this business opportunity and should have no problem accommodating your goal.

For the roll part, just remember these words: "I'm just going light today."

You should cross 200 lbs before you even know it. 300 is going to be tough, but you just have grind it out to reach your goal.

I've found that BJJ has done little for my actual "fitness". When I do a lot of BJJ, my pullups/pushups/etc doesn't really go up at all.

Upper belts who just train in the gi can and do get fat, because they are able to just basically lay around on the ground.

    Probably?

Not only are certain high-level competitors doing a shit ton of PEDs, they're also engaging in seriously intense S&C routines. BJJ+PEDs won't make you look like an action figure.

Meh, a lot of them don't even lift weights, or do a terrible job of it. Just doing steroids will make your muscles grow, even if you don't lift at all.

If you follow the ATOS regimen, you can look like a bodybuilder.
