Conor will do no better than this guy at avoiding takedowns. Don't get it twisted: Barboza is athletic as hell, and he couldn't do shit to get away from Khabib. What Khabib has done to Barboza and Michael Johnson is basically what will happen to McGregor.

Edson didn't lose the fight because of his takedown defense. He actually did a fairly good job of getting away from Khabib once he got a hold of him until he gassed. The problem was the fact that Khabib was beating him inside the pocket and allowing him to slice into the position in the first place. If you let Khabib touch you the whole fight it doesn't matter how good your takedown defense is..you're going to lose, i.e. Tibau.

Conor is terrific at getting up, Khabib is terrific at keeping people down. If Khabib even gets one takedown and Conor doesn't immediately get back up, he may not lose in that round per say, but it'll probably gas him to the point where Khabib is going to take over and submit him when he can't pop back up anymore.
