Everyone is just assuming that DC is going to have surgery, but he said he has to get it scoped to see if he will need it, so he may not even need it.

I don't think his knees are that bad if he did this to Hendo:

    What do you guys think?

Ive torn my lcl. I could still compete but I got it fixed when I had time. Improved my game 5 fold. If you're fighting jones you better be as close to 100% as possible

How bad is it? Bad enough that Jones, who never had time for DC before, is suddenly calling him out.

The severity of the injury is irrelevant.

It's always better to treat any injury sooner rather than later.

Everything about the situation sounds similar to Anthony Pettis'. Hurt going into the fight, "might've" made it worse during the fight and potentially risks doing more damage by putting it off.

No one knows. It has already been said that DC is meeting with a doctor this week to see how everything is and to see if he needs surgery. Lots of people been saying and acting like he absolutely needs surgery and will be out for a long time...don't listen to these idiots. True fact is no one, not even DC, knows if he needs surgery or how long he may be out just yet.

I think, after watching that clip again, that Hendo is slooooooooow. Cormier is a great wrestler but man, Hendo had so many chances to escape there but just moved slower than molasses. I hope he hangs up the gloves sooner rather than later, I'm going to hate to see him get really hurt. Moving down a weight class is only going to make the speed difference that much worse.

Anthony Pettis didn't "think" he needed surgery either and he's been out for a year. Any time a guy says "I felt my knee pop", it's fair enough to assume that at some point surgery is going to be an option. The fact that he's willing to "delay" it for a title shot suggests that surgery is less an option and more of an inevitability---kind of like how it was with Pettis.

I may be wrong but I think he said that to ensure he does not have to fight again before the title fight.

Dude. I went to med school in the Dominican, and you need to cut that shit off. Come by my house. I've got some used scalpels and we can take care of that.

That's fair enough. It isn't something anybody other than DC and his doctor can say for sure. I do think it's reasonable to deduce that surgery in the immediate future is the most LIKELY outcome, given how similar the circumstance is to Pettis.
