Opinion How are Target and Walmart open but small businesses can’t ?

My wife knits. She always buys her yarn from a local yarn store owned an old lady. That store is ordered closed by the governor. But you can still buy yarn from Wal-Mart. Its fucked up. In what world is it more hygenic to shop at Wal-Mart than a small speciality shop?

I can control getting the virus via touch equally in both options. However getting the virus via breathing is way more likely in a small shop with low ceilings. It takes time to breath in enough of the virus to get it and a small space is more dangerous.

the law is currently being challenged in ALL STATES in the courts

how do you expect me to fight it? they would just take me to jail, book me and release me without filing any charges - DA would probably file second time

I would have to spent hundreds of thousands in legal defense (defend BS criminal case and federal rights violation law suit against the city) - it's easy to talk but let's be real

Landlords are societal bottom feeders. So good riddance. All rental properties should be publicly funded and at cost to renters. This would also help lower the purchasing price of homes.

Big government and big business go hand in hand.

That is true. It’s true now. But early in the gilded age big business ran the show without big government. And in some countries they’ve had big government without big business, like in Pol Pot’s Cambodia or other agricultural communist states.

But yes, in the USA right now they definitely do. In China right now they do. You’re right. That’s the trend of now and the foreseeable future. The era of the corporatocracy.

Yeah all the mom & pop grocery stores, pizza shops, and other take out restaurants are open.
