If he gets a title shot, and comes in with great cardio, I think he matches up well. He got caught in the last fight, but his movement and boxing seem much better now. And his grappling is always good. Cain will have a hard time maintaining top position and avoiding sweeps and subs. I think eventually Nog could submit him. Hell, maybe even land a shot and get a tko/ko.

Thoughts?

The pace would be way too much for Nog and it would be another finish for Cain. Nog has nothing for Cain.

I think that Nog's second fight with Mir proved that Nog is no longer near the top of the division.

Gotta love a warrior like Nog, but he's just past his prime. He can definitely put up a great fight, but I just don't think he can hang out with the sharks anymore.

I thought you were joking, Nog does not need another Fedor like beatdown which is what would most likely happen not to mention he can't take those kind of beatings anymore. Nog's had his time and he'll be remembered as a great, but I can't see him making a run at the title, forget about beating Cain.

lol Are you serious? Cain was lighting up Nog in their fight and he barely broke a sweat before KOing him.

(The difference between that KO and Dos Santos' on Cain was that Dos Santos was not clearly winning the stand up battle before the knock down.)

This makes no sense. He had Mir badly hurt, got nervous when he got warned for striking to the back of the head, and probably underrated Mir's ground game and got subbed. It's not like he got dominated.

Big Nog was close to TKO'ing Mir, and Mir is very dangerous and powerful with his submissions. This bout showed both are dangerous.
