Hook problem

OP, get a medicine ball and throw it repeatedly in a hook motion against a wall or use a sledgehammer on a tire, or chop down trees with an axe. All these motions will cause you to recruit all your body's potential into the strike. I throw rocks. I have a lot of them.

You won't have to think about what your doing, you will naturally develop great form. Like learning to shovel hook by shovelling. Dealing with the weight forces you to chain the muscles from feet to hand.

Manual work makes for hard punchers, who'da thunk it.

Apizur, I agree with your theory. I do however thing some elasticity is involved. Just a very minor amount, statistically relevant perhaps (p>0.05).
