Really just wanting to know if that has ever really happened before? Seems far too ridiculous to have happened much in the past.

i cant think of a non title instant. thinking on this and coming up with nothing.

Rumble vs Kevin Burns

This is an example of a non title instant rematch that was NOT decisive. Johnson was eye poked and could not continue so they decided to do the fight again.

I think there have been a few but they were all due to inadvertent fouls that ended the fight early. This is new ground that the UFC is treading on but I believe the first fight between Nate and Conor broke new ground as far as money is concerned, so if it makes money it makes sense. Do you think this is the fight Nate wants as far as martial arts competition goes? No but he's realized that it's a business so he'll take this fight, it's money, notoriety and move on to competition that stokes his fire as a martial artist. If the UFC thinks this is the fight that sells the most, then they should do it. If they're playing favorites with Conor, that's messed up but business usually is.

poked? i remember it being impaled lbs detached retina put rumble out a while

Don't you know? Mcgregor gassed and he was the smaller man, so the loss didn't count.

Evan Tanner vs Phil Barroni

That's the closest I can think of.

Ufc is in denial.

They cant grasp the fact that 11 day tequila drinking cabo diaz destroyed a full camp touch butt conor.

True. It's just the only non title fight instant rematch I remember. I can't recall one where the fight ended on normal terms

Justin Gaethje vs. Luis Palomino

Oops sorry,It was for the WSOF LW title

It never happened before this is new mystery

It was a title fight, the McGregor belt was on the line, Conor always has a rematch clause for his own belt.

damn you dug super deep there. nice. props. and rip tanner. :( i loved that bearded mountain man

Yup, I was a big fan myself, moreso of the man outside the cage and appreciative of the fighter inside of it.

I still watch fights of that era, 2002-2007.

They think by giving him a rematch and beating Nate, he can regain his lost mojo and hype.

This fight also had some controversy. Phil claimed that the ref asked him if he wanted to keeping and said yes, but the ref had actually said do you want to stop? Phil was angry with the stoppage and attacked the ref.

Probably the closest example so far though.
