Holy Holm vs Cris Cyborg Breakdown & Analysis, Why Cris's Hardest Oppoent Won't Get The Job Done.

I'm seeing this narrative all over the forum about how Holly Holm is Cris Cyborg's hardest match-up and this may very well be the case but this doesn't change my pick for the fight. Holly Holm is one of the most overrated fighters in the history of MMA and specifically on this forum. Guys we get it, we all love Holy for knocking out the witch, we love her for that but come on man she really isn't that good at MMA.

Holly just recently snapped a 3 fight losing streak against Bethe Correia in which she looked awful! The hyperbole used to describe Holy such as things like "she is the best wmma striker ever" are ridiculous! She had nearly half the significant strikes to the head of Germaine de Randamie in their 5 round bout and was literally schooled by Shevchenko who is considerably smaller than Holm. We have only been able to conduct the "eye test" with cyborg so far but she has passed this test better than any WMMA fighter ever. I know this forum is obsessed with resume and the names on this resume but sometimes you can't deny what you are seeing in front of your eyes. I consider this fight an easy pick and feel the odds are 20:1 in Cyborg's favor.

I need to reiterate that I don't think Cyborg is some sort of a GOD but she is a considerably better fighter than Holm. I know it's fun to pick a massive underdog and to look cool in front of your friends but don't be that person come Saturday saying " HaHA just kidding guiseeeee Holy is a bum CYborg Big sterOID heAd is BeTter Den i ThoUght." Do the logical things guys and pick Cris Cyborg.

TLDR; I favor Cyborg 20:1 and believe this is an easy fight for cyborg, give me your opinions!

But it is a tall order for Holly here, as Cyborg definitely has the power advantage, and she has a good ground game too, which has shown to be Hollys weakness.

That said, I will legit lose my sh*t if Holly pulls this off.

maybe the 20:1 is a bit of hyperbole but i really think its above 5:1 at least. I know this is MMA and anything can and will happen but I feel Cyborg is a very comfortable pick considering her weight-cut seems to have gone fine.

Depends on how the first minute plays out. If Cybrog is technical, I don't see how Holm can beat her absent a flash headkick. If she blows her wag headhunting in that first minute and gasses, she is vulnerable. I expect business, not pleasure but one can always hope.

Not sure how landing half significant strikes to the head against GDR would hurt her chances against Cyborg. And Shevchenko is elite and has the best striking skills of anyone in WMMA. And both GDR/Shevchenko specialty is striking.

Holm is disciplined and durable to go all 5 rounds and has a generally good gameplan to frustrate her opponents which makes many of her matches boring to watch. It might be enough to steal crucial rounds if Cyborg is as sloppy as some people think.

Holm was winning the Miesha Tate fight until the very last minute. Cyborg is the favourite but 20-1 is absurd. Even 7-1 is enough to deter me from betting on Cyborg winning.
