After her win last night, and remaining undefeated, Holly is the object of infatuation. The love affair rests on foundation that Holly Holm is the best striker in women's mma. I am not sure that I concur with this presumption. With women like Joanne Calderwood, Miriam Nakamoto, Cat Zingano, Mizuki Inoue so on so forth, is it safe to crown her as such?

I personally believe Miriam Nakamoto is the best at 135 and will someday be champion.

I am interested in what the community has to say, do you guys agree or not? Not sure if I should have made it poll or not.

    Discuss.

Holm is by far, the best with her hands...

Well in terms of pure striking she's obviously the best. She'll have to prove how effective it is in MMA against top opponents though. But probably, most women aren't good strikers.

I agree with you that Nakamoto is a better striker at 135.

She's not only the best striker but she's the only really good, powerful striker. WMMA needs more Holly Holm's and less Miesha Tate's.

Hopefully one day we'll get Nakamoto vs Holm so we can find out.

I like Mizuki Inoue. Her boxing is some of the best in mma, regardless of gender.

  8. That fight, right there, is one I will be waiting for.

I would really like to see Holm against Kaufman first.

Nakamoto is up there in years and wear from her Muay Thai career. Might be too late for a serious run. Inoue, on the other hand...

Watch Nakamoto, not knowing her actual age, and tell me she looks 36. And she has a title fight for the invicta bantamweight championship, I am sure she is not far off the UFC's radar. She is a serious threat imho.

I'm not sure she wants to join the UFC. They already offered her a contract and she turned it down. She also says she feels more comfortable fighting under a female promoter.

In that interview the way she was talking about how green she is and down playing her wins in MMA, along with her teams "vision" for her career, makes it sound like she just wants experience under her belt before the UFC.

I think her issue is their commitment, we shall see though. I think we'll see her in the ufc before all is said and done.

nakamoto is to me. She may be 36 but she has japanese blood so she is actually about 26. Seriously though the lady doesn't look any older than 27-30

Calderwood has some very nice Muay Thai but with the size difference they will never fight.

Yes, by far. She was a talented kick boxer prior to becoming such a great boxer and it shows in her MMA fights.

Correct. She said she wants to one day challenge Ronda Rousey. She just wants to get experience. She's a professional boxer that loves MMA, she knows how much work is required to be at the top of both sports. She isn't taking it lightly, which is the correct response. Oddly, when Ronda wanted more fights and get more experience before taking on Cyborg (and before Cyborg was busted for cheating), she was being called out for "ducking" Cyborg. Holm wants to do the same thing before the UFC. Both are the right ways to go about it.

    I'm hoping Tate ko
    But chances are slim

More like Ronda arm bar first round
And then tate has to shoot herself in the face
    Again

    Wrong thread sorry
    Sad face

I was referring to Nakaoto but yes, funny how Ronda catches so much flak for that.
