I'm not a Rousey hater or lover for that matter. The only fighters that have "Xpac heat" with me are Bisping and Daly. But I do want to see more than one fighter in a division in a year.

Rousey will have fought 3 times in a year, meanwhile....

#2 Zingano has only 1 fight in 11 months (no fight announced)
#3 Davis has only 1 fight in 14 months (no fight announced)
#5 Kaufman has only 1 fight in 16 months (no fight announced)
#8 Correia has only 1 fight in 12 months (no fight announced)
#10 Carmouche has only 1 fight in 16 months
#14 Randamie has only 1 fight 21 months (no fight announced)
#15 Murphy has only 1 fight 12 months (no fight announced)

•Dudieva 1 fight this year (no fight announced)
•Duke 1 fight this year (no fight announced)
•Moras 1 fight this year (no fight announced)
•Nakai no fights this year (no fight announced)
•Pacheco 1 fight this year (no fight announced)
    •Pennington 1 fight this year
•Phillips 1 fight this year (no fight announced)
•Smith no fights this year (no fight announced)

More than half of the division are twiddling their thumbs.

Question is will the UFC keep the BW division when Rousey leaves?

There's only 26 fighters in the division.
It isn't mathematically possible for every fighter to have 3+ fights a year. It's not the fighters fault at all.

It's the UFC's fault for having a division with less 30 fighters. And 4 of the fighters don't technically fight under the UFC's banner.

Not really fair to say. I've seen several of those fighters campaigning for more activity on Twitter. The UFC isn't letting them fight.

Now Cat is definitely someone who seems to only want to fight once a year.

The division is still ridiculously thin.

SS has to be careful to when trying to create or protect contenders when matchmaking.

People are not paying money to watch the #14 vs #16 fighter in the WBW division

That is why they are not scheduling their fights, in some divisions you are looking for up and coming prospects, most of the women they have now we already know their ceiling

    Absolutely.

But it's also done that way on purpose. It's easy to be a dominant champion of a division when you have nobody to fight. This allows for easy marketing.

Honda could have 24 fights a year, they last 16 seconds...and I'd still be bored even if they were chained together.

Does the division stops because the fighters have "hit their ceiling"?

So many things wrong with that:
    1. Lawler, RDA, and Werdum would not be champions right now.
    2. There are plenty of fights in other scheduled fights with people who are not likely to receive title shots in the forseeable future, such as, Bisping/Whittaker, Burkman/Cote, Magny/Silva.

Don't the LHW and WSW divisions also consist of barely over 30 fighters? HW and FLW have like 40.

    Holly Holm

I'm not taking anything away from Rousey for winning or her level of competition.

But there needs to be more BW fights. All of those fighters on the sidelines and not all are injured. In fact I see some lobbying for fights. The UFC can focus and adore Rousey all it wants, but I want to see more than just 1 person in a division.

An obvious solution implicit in his post 'it's the UFC's fault for having a division with under 30 fighters' would be to sign more fighters.

Since there are actually over 200 WBWs in the world, just under 30 in the UFC.

That doesn't strike me as logically true.

A division with two fighters can have more than 3 fights a year each, if these two fight more than three times in that year.

Well, everyone was saying back in the day that Holms had a chance but she just needed to make it to the UFC...now that day is here and what it came down too was how powerful Rhonda has become since then.

She's now gone full blown super sayian and knocking woman out. Something she's wasn't capable of doing in Strikeforce. Mean while, Holms is kicking ass but is not showing that K.O ability she has against finally "good" competition.

Greg believes in Holms (that's his job) and formally said she was ready for Rhonda. I don't think she doesn't have a chance like Betch.

I think this fight will come down to two things. If Rhonda's hands are really that good... or is she too confident in them and is actually going to stand with the on paper better striker in Holms. Because it's an easy win if Rhonda gets the throw. On the feet it's a toss up.
