Holly Holm vs Miesha Tate = Boring 5 round decision

The main reason why Holly Holm was entertaining against Ronda was because Ronda was charging forward nonstop. Miesha Tate has already said she won't do that, so this fight will probably become a boring 5 round decision.

I'm thinking it will be a repeat of Holm vs Pennington, what do you guys think?
 
I can see Tate wearing down Holm to the point where she could be getting easy TDs in the later rounds. Miesha isn't the most skilled fighter but she keeps coming till bell sounds.
 
Think it's gonna be pretty good tbh.
Holm probably pick tate appart, but Tate has a very good chin. She will eat Holly's punch all night.
 
There's a difference between what Tate says and what she actually does, she's probably the dumbest fighter in the division when it comes to fight IQ, the only way she wins this fight is if Holms chin is completely gone.
 
I think Miesha WILL pressure her, just not with the wild haymakers, chin-in-the-air style we saw R3 self-destruct with.

Miesha will probably try and shoot for a lot of takedowns, and keep it grappling-heavy, to the best she can.
 
it will at least be a little more technical that R3 v HH was
 
Meisha usually opens with her new and 'improved*' striking, so she'll get her nose broken in the first round.


*To be fair, it IS better.
 
You should go back and watch some of her fights.

I keep stressing this, in MMA you have to set up your takedowns. Miesha isn't coming with some sort of highly elaborate gameplan, Holly knows what she's gonna try to do, we all know what she's gonna try to do and that's take her down and grapple her but in order to do that she has to set her takedowns up with her striking.

She simply isn't capable of doing that without getting hit, look at the Eye fight, the McMann fight and now she's fighting a girl who actually knows how to throw punches. She is way too hittable, her fight IQ is complete garbage and she's not even that good of a grappler. WMMA is still in the stone age and it's the only reason someone like Tate is relevant that and the fact she has a fat ass.
 
I like watching Tate. I don't like watching Tate fight. Would like to be grinded on. Don't like watching others grinded on.

Have you ever watched a tate op? Her face is s punching bag in nearly every single first rd fight she is in. Hell that chubby sumo chick gave her a hard time despite the scorecards. She wins on toughness and will. It would be interesting to see if she can handle hollys power
 
It could be a less than stellar fight for sure. I think holm wins but meisha has to make it boring to have a chance
 
I love Tate I really do but let's not forget she made Julie kedzie seem like a world beater muay thai artist. Kedzie hit her with head kicks that dropped her twice, punches that dropped her twice and a elbows. She got a sub because kedzie made a horrible mistake and yes she's improved since than but not nearly enough to beat Holm. I think Holm takes her out.
 
I am going to predict Tate taking a couple crisp jabs and not liking it at all. Tate will start shooting very desperate and predictable takedowns and will end with her eating a knee.
 
Tate is gonna be constantly pack pedaling and eating shots. Both of those will tire Tate out. Plus if Holm successfully stuffs a few take downs it's gonna take a lot out of tate. Holm will have a high out put of stirkes but she doesn't throw power haymakers which tires fighters out. Her accuracy early on will set the tone of the fight, and if she can stuff those takedowns. Thats my keys to the fight anywys. The later the fight goes the better for holm, as long as she isn't getting laynprayed.

Meisha is going to get the shit beat out of her but not go out for a few rounds.

As others have said, Tate has a horrible fight IQ a lot of the time. Not always, but when she plays it smart she is pretty boring and pretty basic. When she fought Ronda the 2nd time that was the worst gameplan I've ever seen. Why on earth would you keep clinching with an Olympic medal winner in Judo who excels in the clinch game? She has heart and grit though I will give her that much.
I think this fight will go into the 4th round and Holly will eventually stop Tate. I think the first round will be boring and a feeling out process.
