Holly Holm added 150,000 ppv buys for UFC 194

194 is an epic card. Old Pride level. Top to bottom awesomeness. It was going to do 'well.' Holly Holm made it so it's going to do even better.

The traffic created by the upset is so much better for the UFC (at least in the short term) than if mean mugging, bratty (imho, just the persona) Rousey would have just bullied in and won another quick one. For example, my GF is now excited about the next UFC card. If the UFC and it's fail think "we needed Rousey to win" attitude isn't checked and changed, well, they are stupid and misguided as is often the case.

The next couple ppvs will see a bump from Holly Holm, and it may even last through UFC 200. Thank you Holly, thank you for what YOU have done for the sport.

Also doesn't help that Ronda is taking a long time off. They shouldve scheduled the rematch asap

I don't think either would of had an effect. 194 was going to do huge numbers anyway.

Plus there are two huge cards before 194. We will all be talking about tuf 22 finale and Ufc Fox by that point

If somebody asked me real quick who Rhonda's las 2 opponents were, I couldn't answer. This will not be forgotton quick. You think Rhonda beating Betch or wtevr was a bigger story? Nobody was really making a big deal at all. I mean, those dominant fights from Rousey are what makes THIS a big story, but still..

Agree. I thought it would be huge news for a while but its Monday and already its old news. Its tough doing business during NFL season, a mediocre game dominates UFC's biggest moments.

Holly will need to have a couple of more performances like she did against Ronda to even begin to scratch the surface of popularity Ronda has.

If Holly starts having more 5 round showings like she has in the past, I can see the public pretty much being done with her pretty quickly.

Rhonda v Tate III would not have been much better than 500k either.. MMA fan isn't as stupid as the UFC wants it to be anymore. Rhonda needed a new challenge. Holm will sell, but what I am really talking about is the amount of people talking about the fight and the outcome that would not have been otherwise. UFC would have been wise to put together a bigger, more classy promo package for 194 on during the broadcast. If you make it good enough, people won't complain about it being a commercial.
