The fact that Wonderboy TKO'd Whittaker in R1 back in 2014 is just one more example of the 170 division being really stacked. Whittaker went up to 185 and has done very well. Gastelum went up to 185 from WW and has done exceptionally well despite having less height/reach (5' 9") than typical for that division. Obviously the weight cut hurt Gastelum at 170, but the point is that 170 has probably been the best and deepest division in the UFC with perhaps some rivalry from the 155 division which is also typically very deep with talented veterans.
