Watching Woodley beat Lawler, with Thompson waiting in the wings, reminded me of another series of fights at LHW. There was the blood and guts champs (Griffin/Lawler) that defeated the charismatic wrestler boxer that no longer wrestled (Rampage/Hendricks). These champs got exposed/caught by wrestlers with better speed and a great right hand (Rashad/Woodley). Then along comes the unorthodox striker lacking in personality but with great credentials (Machida/Thompson). I wonder if Woodley is smart going for the money fight and passing on Thompson? Machida v Rashad says he is making the right choice.
