I saw District 9 and it is awesome. A little slow in the beginning, but the allegorical aim, plot development, and special effects were decent. Surprised such a new auteur was able to get a budget to do that movie. The special effects = Top notch

I saw District 9 and it is awesome. A little slow in the beginning, but the allegorical aim, plot development, and special effects were decent. Surprised such a new auteur was able to get a budget to do that movie. The special effects = Top notch

I'll definitely be watching it soon. Im surprised to hear so many positive reviews. Seems like a pretty original idea. I hope it's not too Hollywoodish.

it was good, it was also short I would of thought it would be close to 3 hours like many sci fi flicks.

The worst part is after the movie was done I watched it in a pack theatre and a lot of people started booing. I guess the expected it to be all action and special effects like transformers.

The best part was when Campbell started crying when the decision was announced. Anybody have that clip? Oh, and even funnier is that he got a rematch and lost by KO again.

sadly the majority of Americans do not know that...they see a hyped up movie and expect it to be a transformers type deal all special effects action and not intriguing story.

I enjoyed the film but what ticked me off is how quiet it got at the end and then the audience was saying wtf? and laughing than a couple of guys wearing affliction style shirts were saying Fuck that shit was wack, and how they said the movie was a gimmick to take consumers cash. The ironic thing is at the end of transformers the people I watched with at the local AMC all clapped and gave it a standing ovation lol

I should of watched this in LA at an indie theatre so I could enjoy with other people who actually enjoy cinema.

People don't step outside the storyline and try to get greater meaning from the movie. It's an allegory. It's about the apartheid; the white population and the treatment of the native Africans. It's about the human condition. It illustrates how strong biases are and how the capacity to change whatever bias often requires a person to be put in a situation in which he can feel empathy, to step in another man's shoes.
