High profile refs in mma - highly accomplished martial artists themselves

The fact that he's a pro fighter makes him a highly accomplished martial artist. What've you done?

No it doesn't. That's some of the dumbest logic I've ever heard. Anyone can be a fighter. You don't have to be skilled or accomplished in martial arts. In fact, many are not skilled or accomplished. They just fight because they either like it or aren't competent enough to make money doing anything else.

I would actually get into the cage (or at least a gym) before i talk shit about someone who has actually been there.

No one's talking shit about anybody. Facts are facts. Quit being so defensive. Herb is not an accomplished fighter. He has a losing record and has never beat anybody worth a damn. Stepping into the cage/ring to fight does not make you an accomplished fighter or martial artist. All it makes you is a guy who once signed up for a paid fight. High school dropouts with no other means to make money do it all of the time.

Fact is, dude was talking shit about someone's record, when at least Herb Dean had the balls to step into the cage. He gets respect for doing what you and 99.999% of Sherdog will never do.

More referees should actually compete before becoming officials.
