People have different ideas of what success means, for instance my youngest brother struggles as he has young kids and is a minister, in my mind I think my parents consider him very successful in life. I'm about to finish a 25 year military career and could financially retire at 44 and say I made it, but I'd rather work a piss paying job and do something I enjoy for work. My middle brother is a career student, doesn't work and lives with his GF. He's unquestionably the smartest of all of us, but he got a late start as he drifted his entire 20's. He's the only one of my brothers and I who has a 4 year degree and is working on his masters. Who is more successful? I'm not sure because we all have different goals and definitions of being a success. For me happiness, providing for your family, being a productive member of society trumps a miserable prick millionaire who's morally corrupt and driven by greed. But that's just me....
