it seems just about every american tv show i watch has people hi-5ing each other, why?
is it as common as it seems? do most people do this in america?
it's bad enough when kids do it, but when old guys do it to each other it really does look stupid. it's like, 'everyone else is doing it, so we better too.'
the same with the 'rock-on' hand gesture. [i think thats what its called. i'm old!]
look at a group photo and there is bound to be at least one person doing it. although a group photo of japanese people usually throws up lots of peace signs, the correct way and the incorrect way.
everyone is eager to follow suit when it comes to these type of things.
