So here's the deal. I know, that Taekwondo is considered a complete & utter joke on here, but none the less, I 'm a Bluebelt form YEARS ago. My Master at my gym passed away years ago from cancer - he was told he had 6 months to live, and said: F!@$ that, and lived WELL for 5 years - he was a damn good man.

That said, I've been training in boxing & MMA for years, but I'd also like to go back to a REPUTABLE Dojang, as opposed to the thousand's of "Mc Dojo's," and earn my AUTHENTIC Black Belt.

Ergo, my question to all of my fellow "Sherdogg' Brethren," is: does anyone know some LEGIT Taekwondo Dojo's in The Woodlands, Spring, Conroe & Houston area.

I am so very thankful in advance for the help & assistance guy's - truly, I think you.

-Cheers

***(P.S. Apologies Mods. & Admin. if I posted this in the wrong place - I searched all over the sub-forum's and had no idea where to put this one, LOL! Thanks Guy's, much appreciated.)***

Well I looked up 2 different gym's near me, the first one I have to say looks like generic & I kinda' like bullshit: https://www.google.com/localservice...la3dvbmRvIHRoZSBXb29kbGFuZHMqCXRhZWt3b25kbw==

However the second one looked a "shosh" more serious, especially with the Master's accolades, etc. our are they all complete bullshit, and I should just continue on my journey, LOL?

Either way, I'm down for any suggestions or drive from The Woodlands, Conroe, Spring & Houston area - I really 'am serious & only a few belts's away from earning my coveted Black Belt, especially in honor of My dead Master.

Thank you so much guys, you really don't know how much your guidance & suggestions helps me.

-Cheers to everyone!

Bump.

As I said previously, any help would be so greatly appreciated all!

-Cheers

As I said the first seems "mainstream" as fuck and a no-go.

Now the second one seems a little different - for no another reason than his credentials; I've"been out of the game," for a while, so I'm not if any of yo di,b but here's what I've found so far boys.

P.S. So I've tried to get it easier for you all, by putting direct links to the school's I was talking about, with their Master(s), students, programs, but apparently I'm an idiot when it became conveniently easy to do so.

Please forgive me in advance, LOL;

However, not as "fancy," AND all that Woodlands bullshut, this man "seems," competent enough - yes or no?

Thanks guy's for everything, seriously.

***(P.S. Mods./Admin. if this were be better suited in the "Stand-Up Striking," or one of those other's, to get the best & most helpful reviews & advice/experience, I would be very greatful & appreciate it guy's as always - thanks & Cheers)***

*********** O.S.. I think that I forgot to name the first Master (who sounds & reads like an amateur as I've previously said is: "Master Hong."

His contemporary that sounds legit is:
"Master Seong."

BOOM! Now you've got all the intel. I do!

P.S.S.S.S.S.S.S.***************

Eh boy's, is there away to "MANUALLY"
repost or move/alter my thread, without the help of the "Mods. & Admin's.?" Because I really feel like I'm "semi" wastimg my time in this forum, as opposed to a few who suggested the "Standup Technique?" Forum for me to get some solid help.

Thanks!

-Cheers all

Since you've done a lot of martial arts, it seems like you should just visit gyms and see what their sparring looks like. If they are throwing full bodied spinning hook and axe kicks in sparring, then that's literally the skill you are seeking since most of the rest of it is in Muay Thai. If those kicks look wonderful when they are sparring, it is the right place. If they don't, then it isn't. It doesn't matter what the guy running the place has in his bio. What matters is if people in the gym can bang or not.

It is ok if it looks like this:

Well, first thing you should look about isn't trainer's / coach achiewements....
You should look ON his STUDENTS achievements and ofc to gather references about tutor from his former and current students.;)
Exactly this.

Also with TKD situation really is different depending from area and country and club.

__
In europe some clubs does have demanding sponsors and for high level accomplishments in some countries u might get premials from gubbermint and...if u are in olypmic team then ;)...

Basically clubs might be sport competition oriented or... more like TMA... or... this McD type.

In Central and Eastern europe some TKD clubs are :p hardcore stuff and not even close to dreams that it is just hobby ....

I think TKD is going to be weird for an adult. They are all old school karate type yearly contracts. I think you should check them out first. No point to have this great competition team and everyone is under 16.

So why it is wrong to judge coach from his achievements.
Some bunch with trainers despite didn't had notable results as athletes, had produced iconic names in their sport....
Cus dAmato and Karelin's coach are only few examples in combat sport...
Weightlifting btw too did had a lot of such examples cos atletes sometimes get injuries and turned to learn how to teach guys....
I don't think that someone might call as bad coach if he had produced notable athletes ( with easy to google up serious achievements )...

Not about TKD however flowchart might be approx the same in some cases.

Worst KB trainer/ coach I had had best credentials as fighter .... from all KB trainers I ever had.
Why?
He was nice and really taught properly and wasn't selfish at all.
What stuff he did wrong?
He gave me too small for me pads holder and he stepped back and rolled with impact smoothly and in smart manner.
So these sessions didn't had in reality increased my kicks effect...
Next beauty was to gave me ( cos credentials ) as mit holder gentleman smaller and older than my dad ....
Ofc I had pulled back a lot because as person he was respectable and really nice ....
While this trainer in reality was capable in real life, had pro KB and pro boxing fights under belt and if I remember correctly all fights he had lost were just on judges cards...btw as person he at least vs me was nice and polite.

Another KB guy was with not so impressive credentials as fighter, however he was even excellent to calibrate sparrings .... and students results were according to this reality...

To teach ppl requires talent....
I for example can't normally teach fighters and maybe even to teach someone in self defense class.
Character and talent is core value for trainer/ coach and his student's results.

It seems that way on here because there's a McDojo vibe from most of the TKWD schools. I have a good friend that trains at a school that has 6 year old black belts....... seriously.... 6 year olds! His daughter is 6 and is a 2nd degree junior black belt.. Just craziness that people fork out BIG money for that. Belt tests every 6 weeks, in house tournaments, pictures, etc. Money train
