This message is for Sherdog the site, as well as majority of it's posters.
Obviously if you're a Conor fluffer and you blindly ride his nuts, it's obvious why you would care, but I imagine those people are in the minority here. So why does the average fight fan really give a shit that one of the 500 fighters employed by Zuffa, is being a child and got pulled off the card?
I mean, I get it it's mma news and I would expect it to make the headlines, and get some discussion... but here we are more than a week later and it's still the main topic on sherdog. Why? Again, this question is not for his nutriders, but as a knowledgeable fight fan, is it that big a deal anymore? We're talking about a fighter form the lower weight classes who just got badly exposed by a fringe top 10, and lost any mystique he might have had going into that fight.
Now he's just this dude holding a belt he's too big for, and he shows no interest in defending, crying to get a rematch he didn't deserve, being placed as a headliner while there are better fights on the card, and now wanting special treatment regarding press conferences and promotion. It's funny because before the Nate fight if there was cameras and a microphone within the 10 mile radius of him, he couldn't get there fast enough to run his mouth and whore himself to the public. Now that he got his shit pushed in, he just wants to hide in Iceland and duck away from the spotlight.
But, again, you're a hardcore fight fan. The current FW champ just got his ass handed to him by an unranked LW. The whole GOAT, Mystic Mac, 3 title in 3 weight classes dream has been debunked. You know he brings in the casuals cause if you got tattoos and drop some f-bombs and say some over the top shit, the average meathead will eat it up, so that's great for him and the UFC when they're making money... but you as an educated fan should be able to see it for what it is. Just another dude... talented yes, and pretty exciting to watch yes, but really there's dozens of better fighters on the roster, who are more exciting, and who deliver even more action without all the drama and bullshit. Why is this dude constantly being pushed in our faces?
