Does anyone really care? Fights still happen, the division is not "on hold", who cares about belts really, i just want to see people fight. Aldo v Frankie was the correct fight to make regardless of what conor was doing anywa, both had a legitimate claim to be Conor next fight, so it's a contender elimination. Plenty of other things for haters to whinge about, this is not one if them.

145, 155, 170, boxing...he's all over the dam road! Pick a lane!

people want to see the champion fight contenders. they don't want him dicking around above his weightclass in fights he has no chance in hell of winning.

and there is only one true contender at FW, his name is frankie edgar. aldo could easily re-establish himself as one, but as of right now, he got KTFO in 13 seconds. matching the two of them is UFC's final hail merry attempt at taking out frankie before he can get his hands on conor.

This boxing thing is whoa. He's not even in the sport of MMA anymore.

You're right in a way that the belt doesn't really mean something. But it does actually mean something; it means you're at the pinnacle of your division. Having a physical representation of that, and a "title," makes it feel like there's something on the line, which adds excitement.

I'd make a prop bet that Aldo pulls out of the Frankie fight and it won't even happen.
The another prop bet that after that happens Aldo will continue to talk smack about how he wants to fight Conor

Strip him of his title then. Who cares right ? :)

He only won the fucking thing five months ago and if it wasnt for that "Ive hurt my toe" excuse hed probably be a two weight champion at this stage either way nobody held up the weightclass more than Aldo FACT.

Dos Anjos murders Conor, gtfo with that bs.

Can't wait for Conor to return to the octagon and get his ass whoop once again...

Careful there, buddy. Saying anything even remotely positive about Conor on these forums will breed spite.

Aldo fought 8 times from Apr. '11 to Dec. '15.
GSP fought 8 times from Jan. '09 to Nov. '13.

Fact: there simply are not many fighters who hold their respective belts for multiple fights.

Demetrius Johnson and Jon Jones (for a little bit) are the only ones who seem to defend more than twice a year. Even if for a short time.

The bottom line is you have no idea how that fight would have played out, for all you know it could have ended the same way as the Aldo fight as RDA has failed the chin test before FACT.
and neither do you. except we all saw how conor fared against a top 5 LW, and it didn't look all that great. nate is not a very physical fighter, it's the volume of his strikes that overwhelms guys, not his power, and he tagged conor pretty badly. we have every reason to assume that dos anjos, who packs a ton of power, would turn his lights out pretty quickly.

he got owned by a slow diaz, lacking explosive power or speed, but the juggernaut LW with superior skills on top of tremendous power and speed totally won't be able to hurt him because reasons. RDA has failed the chin test six fucking years ago, conor got tagged 3 months ago.

maybe you should write "fact" in bold text, as well, besides all capitals. maybe it will be more true, then.
