I think Demian Maia may have lot more up his sleeve than some people suspect. From looking at his 'Science of jiu-jitsu' DVD series, you can tell that Maia is a very intelligent guy.

I'm sure Maia will have done a lot of work on his striking in preparation for this upcoming fight. And by 'work', I mean intelligent work. Not just laying into a heavy bag etc.

All in all, I hold the tentative opinion that Demian Maia could possibly turn out to be some kind of world beater in the MW division.

Roll on UFC 83, I'm really looking forward to it.
