Here's why Vinny vs Davis aint happening at UFC 157

Basically, Davis says he doesnt want to fight until April. Vinny wants to fight before that but he says that no other LHW in his range is currently available, appart from Hamill who apparantly doesnt want to fight that soon neither.

I think Vinny should wait for Phil and fight him at the next fox card, or that Jones vs Sonnen card.

I don't understand why Davis wants to wait till April at the earliest to fight. Doesn't make any sense. I like Davis and all, but he needs to be active and I think He'd be fine to fight in March or even February. That's still an 8 Week+ camp. Who needs longer than that...other than Machida ofcourse.

Keep Phil Davis off of the Fox cards unless he's untelevised. I like Mr. Wonderful, but as far as Fox cards go, they need more Mr. Exciting. Hope this fight does happen though, it's intriguing.

Vinny has a lot to prove, he should get a fight with any LHW on the roster so both fans, him and the UFC understand where he is really "ranked" among the other fighters.... Choosing a top guy whose style can benefit(yea, i believe Phil Davis is just a good match up for Vinny) you is not cool Vinny, and i'm your fan. Sign a fight with anyone cuz we wanna see u fighting in the UFC.

Davis is the right choice of opponent for him, I think. Not that it's an easy fight at all, but Davis has a big name and Vinny has a good chance of beating him on the ground.

I agree he still has a lot to prove, but he's doing the smart move. Fighting guys with no name is high risk and no reward. Also if you feed him strikers with no tdd, he will just submit them real quick and people will say his record is being padded.

Doesn't look like there's much room for this fight on that card anyway. It's good, sensible matchup, but find a card in March or April.

Seems just anyone can pick and choose fights nowadays. Not Phil Davis, Im talking about Matt fucking Hamill.

Matt, if you dont want to fight mate, get back into retirement because that Hollett fight may as well have taken place in a retirement home.

vinny just sees him as a stylistically less threatening match up.

davis should be fighting a bigger name anyways, vinny does nothing for his record

I want to see Vinny fight again, soon! I can't think of a opponent for him though, maybe Joey Beltran but I think a fight between him and Thiago Silva will be set up when Thiago is back(which isn't far away).

I would love to see diet nog vs Vinny in the future but their timings ain't synced right now.

appart from Hamill and Davis, BELTRAN vs VINNY in the other fight that would make sense.

both have beaten Igor in their last fight, such a fight would make sense on the FX prelims of UFC 158.
