This is an issue that democrats and republicans should both love, but somehow I don't see this happening and these bills will go nowhere.

H.R.24 – To require a full audit of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal reserve banks by the Comptroller General of the United States, and for other purposes.

H.R.25 – To promote freedom, fairness, and economic opportunity by repealing the income tax and other taxes, abolishing the Internal Revenue Service, and enacting a national sales tax to be administered primarily by the States.

Nope. These are dumb. One is a version of "audit the fed", and the other is a fractally stupid proposal to replace the income tax (and IRS) with a national sales tax administered by the states.

So the Fair Tax?

So the Fair Tax?
Nothing is perfect, but far better than what we have now.

Why? Enlighten us.

The first one is silly, but you would have to be terminally stupid to support the second one (so, yeah, abiG). I guess if you really wanted to reverse our gains in standards of living and try to return to some pre-tech agrarian society where every person has a few acres of land to live/die off of, you could. There wouldn't be the ample land, nor the employment and stimulus of perpetual settlement and industrialization, so it would be an interesting, even if horrifying, experiment.

The only countries in the world with no income tax are oil deserts (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain) and tax haven islands (Cayman Island, Bermuda, and the Bahamas). And the former group probably won't last but a few more decades using that model.

As of 01/07/2019 text has not been received for H.R.25 - To promote freedom, fairness, and economic opportunity by repealing the income tax and other taxes, abolishing the Internal Revenue Service, and enacting a national sales tax to be administered primarily by the States.

I can't get behind a bill that doesn't have any text yet.

The income tax is paid to guarantee the war criminal banking families their payments.

Why the fuck would any sane person be behind basically removing all sources of income for the government? This would make having a government impossible and should be something everyone is AGAINST...except for the enemies of America.

Here's an article from 2015 when we last had a bill to audit the fed.

https://nypost.com/2015/02/26/why-does-the-federal-reserve-fear-a-real-audit/

Yellen dug in her heels Tuesday, when she appeared before the committee and was asked about Sen. Rand Paul’s Federal Reserve Transparency Act. She said she wanted to be “completely clear” that she “strongly” opposes the measure.

Paul’s bill is known as “Audit the Fed.” At one point Yellen waved a copy of the central bank’s regular financial statement, which is prepared by its certified accountant, and declared that the Fed is already audited. But that was a disingenuous flourish.

What Paul is talking about (and she knows it) isn’t a financial audit of the Fed’s books. He’s eying a much broader look at how the Fed makes monetary policy and what it is doing with foreign banks.

Such matters, which would be routine at any other bank, are off-limits to the Fed’s auditors as a matter of law passed in the 1970s.

So Congress is looking at overriding that law. A few months ago, the House passed the measure by a vote of 333 to 92.

The audit the House wants would be done by the Government Accountability Office (which dubs itself “the taxpayer’s friend”). Yellen’s line before the Senate was that opening up the Fed to an audit would “politicize monetary policy.”

She should take that up with George Washington, James Madison, Alexander Hamilton and the boys. After all, the Constitution they wrote specifically granted the monetary powers to Congress, the most political branch of the government.

It would make having this large of a federal government impossible. So then the question becomes...why do you want to have this large of a federal government and is it actually necessary?

I dont agree with you often, but you are spot on.

Alot of people just dont like to pay taxes. There is no thought beyond that for them

Auditing the Board of Fed will reveal what ? What is that suppose to expose ? Will it give us a reason to act? What action will that be?

I'm assuming the money from the sales tax will go to the Federal government, the states will simply be required to administrate, which without seeing the details sounds like a god damned disaster. I don't trust 50 states to work together in harmony - there should be some federal entity responsible for collecting the tax from businesses and enforcement.

Sure, make it only 2 choices because there are no other options between useless government and the monster we have today. Thats a good way to try to have at least SOME support for that idiotic bill...

A sales tax isn't a form of income?

Huh? Do you not see "And other taxes" after that...its conveniently obtuse for a reason, to trick people that are not paying attention to think its only to remove something like the income tax when in fact, its worded to remove all taxes. This is from the old Koch Brother style of Libertarianism, the bastardized Birch society Liberarianism.
