Hide crushes May in two!
Former WBO heavyweight champion Herbie Hide (42-4, 41 KOs) successfully defended his WBC International cruiserweight championship with a spectacular second round knockout of former WBO cruiserweight challenger R

Herbie Hide probably should have fought his entire career at cruiserweight, he probably would have been unified champion. He still could be. He didn't have the chin like Holyfield or Tyson to be effective at heavyweight.

Very true. He's one of the guys who has benefitted from the cruiser limit being bumped up to 200 pounds.

I saw the fight yesterday live on eurosport, and got to say
that Hide has still some serious power.
But May looked really really bad in this fight. He seemed
really frightened.
Still I think that Hide has his chances in this division to earn
maybe another shot at a title!

herbie always had power and could really go. shame his outside the ring troubles seem to have hindered his career. that and fighting guys to big for him

Mustnt have been any stiff breezes in the arena, Hide managed not to get KO'ed :)

I was zapping yesterday and saw the last two minutes of the first round and the rest. I didn't at first recognize may and just thought: how the hell did they get to sanction herbie hide fighting against a teenage amateur...
Then I saw that it was May. That fight was ridiculous. No skill from both sides. Just a powerful Hide compared to an amateurish weak May. I knew May wasn't good, but damn I was really shocked how bad he was (he beat Arslan once).
I can't remember him throwing a single punch!

So I would't rate Hide too high considering his opponents (strangely labeled "dangerous") performance yesterday.

Well, I'd like to see Hide against some of the top cruiserweights.
