*Herb Dean got it the right way with the Shahbazyan stoppage*

Herb knew in his gut that the kid didn't want to fight anymore after the 2nd round. The end of the round saved the kid, but you can see Herb wanted to stop the fight completely just before the horn rang. When the doctor was called up and he and Shahbazyan were talking. I thought for sure the doctor was going to stop it. Edmund body language said it all. He was done.
I think the corner of Shahbazyan should of stopped it. But there was just too much pride on the line. This kid was looked at as the second coming and to be the youngest champ ever. That's why they didn't throw in the towel or why Shahbazyan said he said he was still alright. Luckily Herb had the right mind to end fight as soon as possible in the 3rd. But it was certainly late, could have been stopped earlier.

Good stoppage. Herb waited to see if the doctor or his team would call it off and they didn’t. Herb could tell by his body language that he didn’t want to be there and stopped it after only a few more hits from Brunson

How is this any different from when Herb let Cerrone get knocked out twice? The guy was clearly done at the end of the round.
Honestly this feels like Herb being gunshy and hoping the doctor would stop the fight so that he didn’t have to take the heat for it. All referees make bad calls sometimes, but with Dean it seams like he has lost his sense of timing when it comes to stoppages – he either hesitates or pulls the trigger to early.

I don't know why people are judging Herb Dean's stoppage. The best thing to do is to ask Dan Hardy what he thinks....

Stoppage was not good. Shahbazyan was getting the piss beat out of him at the end of the round, and not intelligently defending. Between rounds he looked wobbly AF. Also played out strangely to have the fighter trying to answer the bell, take a timeout before starting the round, have a dr look at him, say he’s ok to continue and dude just proceeds to take a bunch of unnecessary damage for 26 seconds. What a fucking joke. Fight was over at the end of rd 2.
