Cool but your emotional and fantasy "what if" or "should be" isn't what dictates real world market value.

Big business is corrupt and unfair, what a shocker !!

Yes and any other champion that dominant in a heavier division would have instantly been granted a rematch. If they traded him and canned 125; I don’t see very much blowback imho.

Yes. People are getting confused. Fair value vs market value. What's "fair value" for Cejudo, in our eyes based on UFC's value and income, might not be what the open market ("market value") is currently willing to pay for his services.

Agreed. And I"m not pretending that it's easy or even likely. But it's all the fighters choice.

At the end of the day, the fighters that have known their true worth and weren't happy, have left the UFC.

But what alot of fans are missing, is the worth of the UFC to the fighters. They provide the production, the marketing, the opponents and exposure. They provide what fighters need to become a star. The UFC doesn't Need Johnny Prelims, nor do they have anything real big to gain from him. The fighters have everything to gain early on.

And again, nobody has to be a Professional MMA Fighter. I'm glad people decide to take the hard road, because it provides entertainment for us though.

Bullshit. Boxing’s talent pool is exponentially larger than MMA’s. For every UFC fighter who trained at their local McDojo for a few months making 10k/10k a fight, there’s a dozen boxers who’ve trained their whole lives making peanuts.

That's what I would do. Especially if Volk wins. Lean into it, beg Dana to let you fight for a 3rd one (or 4th one, if you wanna add the gimmick). Cause he's too small to fight at BW. Marlon don goofed, the rest of them won't. That's a guaranteed dead end. But FLW is a grueling cut, so he won't come back to it and without him - that division is toast.

Basically, fun is over. So just go for broke. Do what no one else has even attempted and whatever happens, you'll be in history books.

You're all overlooking the most important question-

Will he call himself Double C now?

Agreed. there really isn’t to much to lose in that regard. it’s really gotta be brutal being a champ in a division your unsure what the UFC is doing with. 0 job security. Blows

I wonder when we’ll see another Olympic gold medalist come to the ufc, win 2 belts while beating 3 guys every expert out there said would destroy him.

Not true. The UFC has so much control over these fighters they have to give into what the UFC offers due to their strict control over them and the UFC being almost the only fighting promotion to be in since bellator isnt any better at paying fighters. The UFC would never have looser contracts for fighters to get paid what they deserve unless the fighters unite and take it to court.

Edgar, Cruz, & Faber all need at least 1 big win before even being considered for a title shot.

The problem is while Cejudo is out Sandhagen, Yan, & Sterling are all 1 win away as well. Moraes still in the mix, th e division is an absolute mess & it can't afford to be giving out title shots to has-beens coming off losses.

You say it yourself. They have the freedom to say NO then the UFC will either say no or come back with a higher offer. There's nothing wrong with Cejudo wanting and asking for more and saying no if he doesn't like what's offered.

If this guy left the sport today no one would give a fuck. Legends have to carry some kind of weight in that aspect. No one gives 2 fucks if this guy leaves tomorrow
