If Matt Hughes from the first GSP fight fought Johny Hendricks from the only GSP fight, who would win?

Pre-USADA Hendricks snuffs him, obviously. Hughes was from a different, one dimensional, era.

a lot of Hughes debate lately.

Johny prbly catches him at some point and negates the wrestling..... Matt had a lot of heart and toughness though

That would be a good fight. I have to go with Hendrix though. Hughes in his prime was pretty one dimensional. Hendricks isn't the most technical striker either, but he's a good enough wrestler to stay on his feet and has the edge when it comes to power, as Hendricks hits like a truck.

Country breakfast ...unless Hendricks eats country breakfast , then becomes fat Hendricks , in which case Hughes wins again .

It's an evolution.. Johnny is the answer... However, Hendricks would not have accomplished what he was able to if Hughes didn't pave the way.

If Johnny can't KO him (and he has a really good chance too) Hughes has legendary cardio and gets stronger as the fight goes on while Johnny is notorious for taking his foot off the gas in the later rounds.

Either Johnny KO or Hughes decision

Hughes because he hid in the hotel room at 200 pounds while his brother Mark weighed in at 170.

Hughes would likely UD him in his prime. Hughes would lose the first two rounds and win the next three.

Matt Hughes survived a train, what makes you think he wouldn't survive a big rigg?

Can’t be completely positive. Because prime Hendricks was juiced to the gills.

But, we know Hughes would easily beat post USADA Hendricks. So Hughes gets my vote.

Hendricks is a better wrestler and literally went toe to toe with Robbie Lawler.

Hendricks is a fat has been but damn he was good in his prime

Have we seen anybody out-wrestle prime Hughes? Very different fighters but Rick Story did outwork Hendricks for his first career loss.

Hughes takes him behind the barn and pounds him out
