Helwani haters eat crow

The thing you're not getting is it never was a developing situation. Conor was indeed injured.

{<huh}

Of course it was. Lol at you bending over backwards to not eat crow. You are completely full of shit and your hatred is making you behave irrationally.

Timeline of events:

Conor gets injured, UFC cancels press conference, removes promotional video and starts exploring alternatives.
UFC believes Conor can fight and starts promoting the fight again.
UFC is pessimistic again and starts seriously looking for replacement fights.
UFC announces the fight is off and puts together replacement fights

Helwani reported on all of that. You really want this crow hand fed to you like a baby, don't you?

Helwani reported on all of that.
Ariel quite literally never reported Conor was injured.

First off, he said just last week the fight was on. Wrong.

Secondly, feeling so insecure in your opinion that you are rendered to namecalling isn't the own you think it is. Projection at best.

Did he say the fight was on?

Or did he report that the UFC said the fight was on ?

Reporting his sources includes the UFC who was unwilling to come out with the truth as well as his other sources who knew the truth.

I don't have a dog in the Ariel fight.... But reporters report.

No.

He gets information of various qualities -- and gives his opinion.

Ariel generates content for his MMA gossip show by giving access to mostly MMA personalities where he lets them speak -- and then exchanges ideas and shares opinions.

You lack critical thinking skills if you believe he is a reporter just because he interviews others and/or introduces some information (verified or not).

He is an Opinion guy in the entertainment space.
This.

If you've got a source saying the fight's off because Conor's injured, and you trust them, then report it and stick to it.

If you hear the fight's then continuing REGARDLESS then you report Conor's fighting IN SPITE of the injury. Not there's no injury at all and you don't know what had caused the pessimism earlier.

If you then hear the fight's truly off then report it's off because of the initial injury you'd ALREADY reported on and do your proper well earned victory lap.

Ariel never reported on the injury, or even the replacements, because he either had no real idea what was happening or simply didn't trust what he was hearing to truly stamp his name on it. That's opinionating, which is fine, but gets labelled as such in journalism for a reason.

Dog if you have a source saying the fight's off cause Conor's injured you stick to your source.

If someone else comes and tells you otherwise you say it looks like it's continuing IN SPITE of the injury.

When the fight's then truly off you report it's off because your initial reporting was correct.

Ariel was purposefully reporting no details about anything because he either didn't know anything deeper than what Sherdog itself was capable of guessing or because he didn't trust his sources enough to actually stand by it.

He reported the fight was in jeopardy. Obviously he was not at liberty to describe Conor's injury.

Eat your crow dude. You're by far the worst poster on this site, do better.

Conor's team requested he not report on the injury

This is embarrassing for you. Eat your crow.

People talking like Helwani is some kind of oracle,

Anyone with half a brain made the same assumptions from the same pieces of publicly available info.

Ariel did nothing clever there. But some here just absolutely hang off his dangleberries because Dana doesn’t like him.

It’s sad.

I'm not sure how you possibly think Ariel WITHHOLDING he knows there's an injury but not reporting it proves he's doing his journalistic integrity.

"Fight's in jeopardy due to undisclosed reasons" - literally Sherdoggers and Redditors were guessing that off publicly available information, no sources required.

And yeah, I'm totally sure Conor's team requested reporting there's no injury meanwhile Conor himself is literally posting photos from a doctor's office.

You know, at least you could have the decency to stay quiet and accept that intelligence is not one of your virtues. But to be stupid and to talk as if you weren't makes you an arrogant idiot.

You can't cure the latter, but at least spare yourself the former.

Who is saying he did anything clever? He did what he typically does to report on a story, reach out to his sources and find out what is going on. This was business as usual for him but the haters have to pretend like he's talking out of his ass or something. They live in bizarre world where basic reporting has to have some conspiracy behind it.

It's just funny they think the guy who has John Kavanagh on his podcast every few months to shoot the shit wouldn't have access to inside information on Conor's camp.

This board had a better track record than Ariel on this with publicly available information. They even guessed Pereira/Jiri 2 would have to main event as they're the only ones crazy enough to have a title fight on such short notice, available, and not Weili who isn't big enough to headline IFW.

What exactly is there to praise Ariel on? Especially now that he's apparently coming out and saying he knew all along Conor was injured and they told him not to report that so he didn't. That just means he had the scoop and threw away his journalistic integrity to waffle on it for 2 weeks pretending he didn't know it was an injury.

So according to you he should disregard his source's request and do what they don't want him to? Screw over Conor's chances in the fight by telling Chandler where to target? How would he get information from sources in the future if he is pissing them off? You obviously don't understand how this whole reporting thing works. If a source is telling you confidential information you respect their wishes.

Stop digging your home deeper. This is embarrassing. Eat your crow.

Because it was, the UFC literally started promoting the fight again after Helwani reported there was positivity about the fight happening. That's how live reporting on a developing situation works.

Timeline of events:

Conor gets injured, UFC cancels press conference, removes promotional video and starts exploring alternatives.
UFC believes Conor can fight and starts promoting the fight again.
UFC is pessimistic again and starts seriously looking for replacement fights.

The UFC was silent during all of this, Helwani was the only one giving us status updates. Shertards need to understand the guy is just doing his job as a reporter. He's not making predictions, he's not talking out of his ass. He's providing status updates based on what he's heard from his contacts from throughout the MMA world. He's cultivated relationships with people out of every camp and has a phone full of numbers, that's how he breaks the news.

When they canceled the press conference he was adamant that there was no story. There was a story and he either tried to suppress it because he was told to or he had no clue what was happening. So much for all his contacts in the industry. If he suppressed it proves that he isn’t a journalist, and just does what he’s told to do. Stop shilling for the guy.

Yeah man I leave these ppl to come to grips with their public forum embarrassment. It's just goin around in circles hahaha

This wasn't an interview dummy, this was him reporting on the news. He has a phone full of numbers to get the details on any given situation. He's constantly reporting on mma news. Any time there's an ongoing situation his Twitter is probably the best source to follow.

Ariel's speculation that the Fight was On or Off was opining.

Ariel's own words of his OPINION:

"As of right now. If you are asking me straight up, to shoot with you straight up. And I'm the only one doing it.

Is Conor McGregor going to fight Michael Chandler on June 29th?

My answer is Yes."

That's an Opinion.

(edit: timestamp)
======

I included the fact that Ariel conducts interviews, to describe that part of Ariel's format for his show. You know that, but tried to deceive others as if this was part of the argument. Sad...
