I'm curious about fighters who had bad to terrible records that ended up getting UFC contracts at some point.
I'll start:
Edward Faaloloto was 2 - 1 - 0 when he got his contract.
Ikuhisa Minowa was 12 - 11 - 6 when he had his first UFC fight
John Lober was 3 - 5 - 2 when he got not only a UFC fight, but a title fight.
Kazushi Sakuraba was 0 - 1 - 0 when he had his first UFC fight. He would go on to win a UFC tournament.
Mark Hunt was 5 - 6 - 0 when he got his UFC contract. He has gone 4 - 2 - 1 since and is top 10 ranked.
Matt Brown was a meager 7 - 6 - 0 when he got his UFC contract. He has gone 12 - 5 since.
Maurice Smith was 5 - 7 - 0 when he made his not only UFC debut, but first UFC title shot (he won!).
Neil Seery was 12 - 10 - 0 when he got his UFC contract
Vernon White was 20 - 23 - 1 when he had his first UFC fight.
Who else?
