Hey guys, So I'm getting hitched in the fall and I'm trying to figure out some decent gifts for my buddies in my wedding party. I was thinking beer steins, but I'm on a budget and I don't want a cheap looking stein or glass. I was thinking a personalized beer stein but I want it to be something that my buddies will actually utilize and not just collect dust after a couple of years. Any other ideas? Thanks.
If I was getting married, I would do these... http://www.benchmade.com/products/556 with this... http://www.benchmade.com/lasermark/index.aspx But that's just me. They have more upscale "gentleman's folders" too, if you're willing to pay more.
I got something very similar when I was a groomsman. Accept it was this model: One blade had our nickname, the other had our name.
Get wooden beer tankards engraved or lasered or whatever. They are huge and sturdy and would get put to use. Flasks is another go-to.
Well everyone in the wedding party are beer drinkers. However, knives and scotch are pretty good ideas. What kinds of scotch should I stick with? Where would I be able to get wooden tankards? Another problem I have is the shipping and duty costs for international online stores...
Get something functional, not some crap that is never going to get used like cufflinks or a beer stein or a flask. Go out to your local liquor store and buy everyone two or three 22oz bottles of really, really good craft beer. Give it to them before the wedding, tell them it's going to be a great night and a great party, and you want them to remember the night next time they sit down after a horsesh!t day at work and want to pop open a good beer.
My buddy got us all nice bottle openers with our names on them. Pretty useful, and seemed relatively cheap.
I got an iPod nano when I was best man. A beer stein or quality knife would have been a big improvement.
+1 on the fleshlight, TS. But fair warning. The fleshlight doesn't come, and trust me it's in use all the time.
The last wedding I was in, we all got DVD box sets of espn's 30 for 30 series. Solid gift and not too pricey...
I've gotten a flask, a nice bottle opener, a book press, a small leather note pad with a nice "thank you" note on the first page, and golf balls. I'd rather have gotten nothing than the golf balls I knew he got free but I liked the others.
