I need help avoiding caffeine withdrawal.

I was drinking between 6 and 7 diet sodas a day. One weekend, I didn't have any, and no other sources of caffeine. I was so tired on Saturday, that I went to sleep for 3 hours, after being awake for only 2 hours, and having eaten! Then, the headaches came. I stayed away from caffeine and aspertime. The headaches and tiredness went away after 2 1/2 weeks. All the time, I was curious if the symptoms were from caffeine withdrawal, or aspartame withdrawal.

It appears that caffeine is the issue. I had not ingested caffeine or aspertime for around 6 weeks. On Friday afternoon, I had a double Espresso. I felt great! f I was full of energy and ideas. Then, as early as Saturday morning, I had a headache, which has worsened throughout the day. All this from one double Espresso! Give me a break.

I would like to enjoy the benefits of coffee, without having a headache the next day. Is there some supplement I can take to aid with this?

Yes. Drink coffee everyday and this won't be an issue.
 
stop taking caffeine and replace it with vitamin b6 and b12... they are the "energy vitamins"

b12 gives u a similar effect... albeit it doesn't last as long... just be sure not to take too much.. =]
 
Take caffine pills or just get used to not drinking coffee or pop. Its best to get used to it sometime.
 
On a serious note, if it affects you that much, just go cold turkey. Yes, the headaches and lethargy will suck, but a the withdrawl symptoms subsides quickly.

IMO, what you need to do is just cut down your daily intake, and time your caffiene consumption for pre-WO, to reap the ergogenic benefits.

Sudo: No offense, but B6 and B12 are in no way a replacement for caffeine; while thiamine is utilized in the Kreb's cycle for production of energy, pyridoxine and cyanocobalamin are not. Vitamins are not replacements for stimulants, and vice-versa.
