Hi forum, the name's Xenon and I've been lurking a little while - enjoying your disfunctional family - and now I want in. I first got into MMA during the Tito Ortiz reign of UFC LHW division, but I really started to follow the sport as Chuck Liddell became the poster boy. For whatever reason, I stopped for a few years and have recently got back into it. I'm no expert and certainly not a hardcore fan but I like to talk fighting and I don't have enough friends... well, any friends... who like the sport as much as I do, so I hope to get my fix here : ) Anyway, what I want to know is your top 5 favourite fighters and why you love them so much. Whether it be win record, style, career story, personality. And maybe, if you feel like it, tell me when you started watching so I've gotta a better idea of where you're coming from with your list. Mine would have to be: BJ Penn - Fuckin natural as they come. On the feet or the floor he was dangerous and some of his antics have been hilarious. Like that time came running to the ring, whipped someone in less than a minute and ran back out haha Nick Diaz - When he put that hurting on BJ was when I took notice and I ended up watching a lot of his previous fights. Just wow. Really like the guy. As I'm sure many would agree, he's easy to relate to if you had an inner-city/poor area childhood. Chuck Liddell - Bad ass. Who didn't love this guy? Used his wrestling to stay on the feet and knock people out. Fantastic run at the top of the game. I was gutted when Rampage beat him in their rematch. Anderson Silva - You could say this spot in my list used to belong to Rich Franklin but dayum did another level of middleweight come along and take the throne. I use to say Anderson Silva lived in the matrix. It was the only way to rationalise the beat downs he would put on people haha Dan Henderson - After spending some years watching UFC I began to check out other leagues like Pride. The two that stood out to me was Hendo and Wanderlei Silva. For quite a while this spot on the list belonged to Wanderlei but over time, the amazing feats of Dan Henderson just made him more and more appealing to watch. And look at him now, still throwing down at the top level. Dude is not human. So that's me. What about you guys?
