I have been a fan of mixed martial arts for about a year, but this is my first time posting on the forums. I had been lurking for a few months, after last night I decided to join. I think people are being very disrespectful to both GSP and Diaz. They are putting the blame on GSP for not finishing Nick, which I think is unfair. Nick showed good defense, despite not being able to apply much offense (other than round three). If GSP had gotten a lesser opponents back, he probably would have gotten a choke. Nick too impressed me, he was actually able to stuff a decent amount of takedowns later in the fight. Not to discredit Georges, but this doesn't bode well for his chances against Anderson. Hendricks and Condit both impressed me as well. I look forward to seeing Johnny get his long awaited title shot, should GSP beat him I expect a superfight in the near future.

Nice first post. My only criticism is that GSP will not have to defend any Anderson Silva takedowns

wow a good first post!

welcome to sherdog

sure dawg

When this is typical of the quality of posts around here its not hard to be better than average.
You were suggesting that GSP may have trouble taking Anderson down right, not stuffing his takedowns? If GSP picks them carefully, not try to force it like a few against Diaz, he should be fine. I think he should be far more worried about his striking

If GSP was truly going for the finish he'd keep trying to punch after the bell like Diaz.

That's just how sherdog is, you have to get use to the trolls that criticize every fighter and every fight.

Not to discredit Georges, but this doesn't bode well for his chances against Anderson.

Georges needs to take the AS fight soon, before he gets too old and his cardio and his core strength deteriorates too much to dominate in his wrestling style. We all saw what wrestling does to AS in the Chael series. Georges is a better MMA wrestler. It will be a fight much like the fight last night but Georges will win and solidify his legacy.
